Tampa breaks ground for $4.2 million investment in Forest Hills Park

The city of Tampa is working on new recreational opportunities for a park in the North Tampa community.

City officials as well as the Parks and Recreational team of Tampa have been working vigorously with community members to meet their needs in accomplishing this project.

“Building multi-purpose fields that can be used for a number of different activities, whether it’s football, lacrosse, soccer,” Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said at a press conference earlier this week. “This improvement project is just another example of how Tampa Parks & Recreation is listening to what amenities community members want in their parks and recreation facilities. Through projects like these, we will continue to provide the highest level of customer service to our parkgoers. I extend my deepest thanks to Tampa City Council for moving forward with the approval of this important project for our Forest Hills neighbors.”

The intention is clear, this will be a new place for all the members of the community to come together and have a place to bond and make new memories. Construction on the project is already underway and is expected to be completed in Fall 2023.

“Were making it a place the entire community can come to,” Castor stated.
