The nonprofit organization Against All Odds Tampa aims to help women start a new life while in recovery.

Lauren Kolodner and Nichole Aguero started Against All Odds Tampa in October 2019. Kolodner and Aguero found themselves on the streets and addicted to drugs. With the help of friends and family, both women were able to recover and start life anew.

“We both were just trying to, you know, see how like I said, we could be of more service to the community, and what else we could do in our spare time,” Kolodner said. “That would facilitate like giving us a purpose in helping other women that have been in similar situations to us.”

The organization offers essential needs such as clothing to women in recovery. They offer help to women who are transitioning to the halfway house to the homeless, so any form of clothing is wanted by Kolodner and Aguero.

“We’re always looking for socks, underwear, always preferably new when it comes to those,” Aguero says. “We want as new as nice of clothes as possible.”
