The FBI and Secret Service are investigating the several suspicious packages that were sent across the country. Several top officials were targeted such as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the former CIA director.

Investigators say one of the packages was sent to the office of democratic congresswoman Debbie Schultz. CNN evacuated their New York building after they received a package that was later confirmed to contain a bomb. The San Diego Union-Tribune was also evacuated after spotting a “suspicious-looking package” outside the building.

“This clearly is an act of terror attempting to undermine our free press and leaders of this country through acts of violence,” said Bill de Blasio, New York mayor.

Bayshore Crosswalk Safety

City officials have begun installing more safety measures at three intersections on Bayshore Boulevard after a mother and her 21-month-old daughter were fatally injured by a racing sports car.

The safety measures include pole-mounted flashing beacons that are activated by pedestrians.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn said, “Pedestrian safety is a top priority. These beacons will serve as a visual reminder that pedestrians are present while also slowing traffic.”

The added beacons are the final stage of Tampa’s Bayshore Safety Enhancement project. This project included adding bike lanes, narrowing traffic lanes and lowering the speed limits.

Curbside Pick-up

Amazon is testing curbside pick-up at three Tampa Bay Whole Foods Market locations for Amazon Prime members.

This is part of Amazon’s “Prime Now” service which began at the end of September. This service is aimed to compete with Walmart’s curbside pick-up which opened in March. Amazon now has similar offerings but is only offered through Whole Foods Market.

Whole Foods’ executive president of operations Christina Minardi said, “We’re thrilled to also offer the option of grocery pickup. It’s just another way we’re making it even easier for more customers to enjoy Whole Foods Markets’ healthy and organic food.”

Shoppers order groceries online, and an Amazon employee will bring the groceries out to your car once you arrive at the location. It will take as little as an hour to prepare an order unless the customers opt for a $4.99 rush fee, in which case it will take less than an hour.
