TAMPA—The Fall 2020 semester is underway after plenty of anticipation and questions about what school will be like, especially students living on-campus. Robert Weidman is one of them.
“Students can’t learn like this and it’s just a band-aid for the real issue,” Weidman said.
Robert lives in Castor Hall and has experienced the drastic changes being made in the dorms and around campus. With the future unknown, it makes it harder for students to make decisions as easy as a quick drive home. Family medical history plays a huge part into why for some cases, it’s even more stressful being away during this time.
“My mom is a year off chemo and cannot get sick…it is always in the back of my head that I can’t go home,” Weidman said.
Apartment resident Giancarlo Cattone was one of many students who expressed their disliking of the way online, and even hybrid classes, were being ran.
“It is so disorganized. There is no proper way to prepare for a class…Everyone is freaking and stressing out,” Cattone said. Thus far, the immediate reaction from students has not been what the faculty as hoped.
