Murderer on the run.
Sarasota County deputies are searching for a man wanted for murder.
Detectives believe Daniel Davenport killed Sergio Hostins. Hostins was reported missing last week and his body was recently recovered in Collier County.
Davenport was spotted in the Orlando area yesterday driving Hostins’ green Subaru Forrester. If you spot Davenport call 911 immediately.
Voting equipment tested.
Voting equipment in Hillsborough County is now sealed and under camera surveillance until the elections start. The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections, Craig Latimer, tested ballot scanner today in Tampa
“We are testing the equipment to make sure that it in fact recognizes every single space on the ballot and that it counts the votes correctly,” said Latimer.
Early voting starts next Monday, Oct 22, 2019.
Manatee rescues.
Crews are rescuing manatees at Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve in Oldsmar. Experts say the manatees swam in during Hurricane Michael’s high tides.
Florida Fish and Wildlife officials believe three manatees were trapped for several days. Two of the manatees received complete medical evaluations and were released back into the wild.
USF’s new logo.
It’s homecoming week at USF and the university is rolling out its new look. USF is officially launching its new brand and logo. Students and alumni are getting their first look at new billboards, banners and merchandise around campus. The university is rolling out the green and gold carpet for alumni all week.
