Legal Age for Vaping Raised
On Wednesday, Hillsborough County voted to raise the legal age for vaping from 18 to 21. Now, a local high school student is joining the fight against vaping.
Miranda Bilher invited medical experts, and local law enforcement to Durant High School in Plant City this evening to speak more about the topic.
She’s hosting an anti-vaping forum called Vaping: Poisoning Youth One Puff at a Time.
USF Ranks Top For Students Veterans
USF is living up to its reputation of being a veteran-friendly campus. They started celebrating their student veterans today with a one-stop show hosted by the Office of Veterans Success.

Free Dental Work For Veterans
An Apollo Beach dental clinic is giving $50,000 worth of free dental work for veterans on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Denise Williams, marketing director for Watts Dental Office explained, “They’ve done a lot for us and this is our opportunity to do a lot for them.”
Saturday’s event will be held at Watts Dental Office in Apollo Beach. The special promotion will be available that day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Veterans are required to bring their DD 214 card or their VA card for consideration. Doctors say there’s no limit on the type of procedures veterans are able to get.

Famous Writer Returns to Her Alma Mater: USF!
After over five decades and 70 books, young-adult fiction author Lurlene MacDaniel is returning to her alma mater.
She walked the rows of the USF library when they were brand new and now she’s back 50 years later to leave a more permanent mark.
Every book McDaniels has ever written is now displayed at the special collection in USF’s library. “My philosophy of writing: nobody gets to pick what life gives them, you do get to choose how you deal with it,” said McDaniel.
