The Pumpkin Patch returns to Hyde Park Village with a socially distant spin. During the month of October pumpkins will be sold with their proceeds going to the Humane Society of Tampa bay. Marketing manager Sarah Moore had to work around the changes brought on by COVID-19 to plan the event.
“We wanted to bring a sense of fall and celebration to the community. Typically our pumpkin patch is open to the public this year we fenced in our entire pumpkin patch we’re regulating people coming into the patch,” Moore said.
The money from the event will help support the Tampa bay Humane Society whom were facing struggles the past few months. This June they had to close their animal hospital due COVID-19 concerns. Humane Society volunteer Jim Bruhav was at the patch to oversee the pumpkin sales.
“We’re trying to make some money for the Humane society, which is what we’re doing all this month in October selling pumpkins at the Hyde Park Pumpkin patch,” Bruhav said.
