Speeding Car Strikes Five Children and Two Adults
This morning in the North Tampa area, five children and two adults were struck by a speeding car while waiting at a bus stop.
All five were transported to a nearby hospital, with one child in critical condition.
Police took the driver into custody, but it is unknown if the driver will face charges. Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan has reported that it is unclear if the driver had lost control of the vehicle.
Tampa Ambulance Crashes While Responding to Bus Stop Accident
While responding to a call where five children and two adults were hit by a speeding car, emergency responders were hit by a black sedan.
The ambulance driver was knocked unconscious and a Tampa fire lieutenant was injured. Tampa Fire Rescue said the black sedan hit driver’s side of the ambulance, causing the ambulance to crash into a concrete power pole. Fire Rescue officials say the two firefighters and the driver of the sedan were sent to the hospital as a precaution.
Both of the firefighters are in stable condition.
27-Year-Old Woman Found Shot in St. Pete
St. Petersburg police are currently investigating the death of 27-year-old Christina Rush.
Neighbors reported hearing an argument and then gunshots. Detectives say Rush was found around 1 a.m. Thursday morning and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
Investigators believe the victim knew her attacker. No one has been reported in custody at this time.

Wrong-Way Driver Critically Injures Woman
A St. Petersburg man was arrested after a wrong-way crash occurred on the Howard Franklin Bridge, leaving a woman in critical condition.
Andy Cuff crashed into another vehicle after deciding to make a u-turn in the northbound lane. Cuff began to drive southbound in the northbound lane.
Alcohol is believed to be a reason behind the crash. Andrea Rusch of Tampa was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital and is in critical condition.
Cuff has been charged with DUI- serious injury and driving in the wrong direction and will be booked in the Pinellas County jail.
The crash closed down the northbound side of Howard Franklin until 7 a.m.
Cross Bay Ferry Reopens in Tampa Bay
The Cross Bay Ferry is back in service.
The ferry connects Tampa to St. Pete. This is the second season for the ferry, beginning two years ago as a test run.
Ferry service is available every day, except for Monday’s. Tickets are $8, $5 for students, military and seniors and are $3 for children 5-18 years-old.
Service lasts up until April 30, 2019. The ferry takes passengers from the Florida Aquarium in Tampa to Vinoy Basin in St. Petersburg.

Glazer Children’s Museum Day of the Dead Celebration
The Glazer Children’s Museum is having a Day of the Dead celebration up until November 2. The Mexican holiday honors loved ones who have died with festivals and performances.
At the Glazer Children’s Museum, kids of all ages are invited to participate with activities ranging from making tissue paper marigolds to sugar skull masks and q-tip skeletons.
