The city of Tampa is offering a wide range of exercise classes to choose from weekly that reduces stress to help improve your state of mind and well-being mentally, as well as physically.
“Exercising regularly and taking care of your body is a good method to cope with stress and improve your mental health,” says the CDC. Not only can it do that but it helps boost your immune system, which is crucial during the pandemic.
With gyms being closed due to the pandemic for a year, Tampa has come up with a solution by offering a variety of outdoor exercise classes and ways to work out.
One of the many classes being offered is yoga, which meets at Armature Works every second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 in the morning. Yoga has many benefits both mentally and physically, according to the American Osteopathic Association. Not only does it help with weight loss and flexibility, it reduces stress, clears the mind and relaxes the body.
If yoga isn’t your style, Curtis Hixon Park offers “Zumba in the park,” which is open to all ages and meets every Tuesday at 6 in the evening. Zumba is an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music. Zumba helps to strengthen your heart and lungs to better supply you with oxygen.
These are just a couple of the classes Tampa has to offer its residents who are looking to improve their health. There are others to choose from, such as a running club and tons of bike trails as well as hiking trails for the nature lovers.
