Ex-Gator Domestic Battery, Free Flights and Red Tide

Ex-Gator Domestic Violence

Former Gators and Clearwater High School running back, Adarius Lemons, was arrested for domestic battery.

Lemons, 21, is accused of strangling his girlfriend and pushing her into a wall.

Gainesville police said the altercation began after Lemons became enraged over a social media message.

A warrant for Lemons’ arrest was issued Monday and he was in custody Thursday morning.

Lemons was charged with one felony complaint and two misdemeanors. Bond is set at $65,000.

Clearwater Red Tide

Environmental groups met in Clearwater at 10 a.m. today to talk about red tide.

Groups such as Future Florida, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy Action Fund, Indivisible FL-13 and others want Governor Rick Scott to take action due to Pinellas County businesses already losing nearly $129 million due to red tide.

Clearwater city leaders met with the organizers to discuss this weekend’s Hooters Clearwater Super Boat National championship.

They said the effects of red tide have been minimal in Clearwater and do not expect the race to be affected in any way this weekend.

Visit Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for reports on where red tide is as well as conditions of local areas affected by the algae bloom.

Free Flights

Allegiant Airlines celebrated their 40 millionth passenger in Florida today by giving away free flight tickets.

One hundred and sixty-six passengers at the St. Pete Clearwater Airport, who were headed to Nashville Tennessee, were refunded the price of their ticket.

St. Pete Clearwater Airport was just one of six other Allegiant Florida Airports that celebrated this milestone for Allegiant with free flights.
