Concealed Carry
Florida leads the nation with the most concealed weapons permits.
It is now close to beating its own record. It will soon have over two million civilians permitted to carry concealed weapons.
At the current rate, the state of Florida will pass the two million mark before the start of summer.
According to the crime prevention research center, Florida leads the U.S. in the total number of currently valid permits. About 12% of the adult population of Florida has a concealed weapons permit. It takes around two months to receive a permit after applying.
Permit-holders are not allowed to carry weapons in schools, government buildings, airports, police stations or universities.
Walmart Technology Upgrade
Walmart stores across Florida will soon be renovated with updated technology and a new look.
34 stores in Florida will be receiving these renovations this year. Three stores in the Tampa Bay area will receive upgrades this year. The stores receiving upgrades are in Tampa, Oldsmar and Riverview.
Walmart has plans to expand its innovation programs. These renovations include adding robots that check and report aisle’s stock.
These robots will be in view during normal business hours. The robots will also serve as floor scrubbers and price-checkers. These robots will serve to free employees from repetitive tasks such as cleaning floors and price checking.
“Our associates immediately understood the opportunity for the new technology to free them up from focusing on tasks that are repeatable, predictable and manual, “senior vice president of Central Operations for Walmart U.S., John Crecelius said. “It allows them time to focus more on selling merchandise and serving customers, which they tell us have always been the most exciting parts of working in retail.”
The company plans to spend 173 million dollars in renovations for Florida.
