AdventHealth, one of the leading regional hospitals in the area, have announced it is exercising extensive sanitation measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
AdventHealth has implemented an infective preventative program equipped with policies in an effort to safeguard team members from exposure to a potential coronavirus patient. Should there be any question or worry from the greater community, AdventHealth has a free 24/7 Coronavirus hotline.
While the presence of the Coronavirus has captured nationwide attention, Dr. Vincent Hsu, Infection Control Officer for AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division remains optimistic. “The risk for coronavirus infection for Floridians remains low. However, it’s important that we remain vigilant and take measures to minimize risk , such as routine hand-washing and staying home if you are sick,” Hsu said.
A peculiar element has been added to the latest coronavirus saga. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has started a coronavirus price gouging hotline. Products covered under Florida state law are protective wipes, gloves, hand sanitizer and other cleaning products. Individuals convicted of scam are subject to a thousand dollars per violation.
Port Tampa Bay using new microbial to combat coronavirus
Port Tampa Bay is one of the premier cruise ports in the United States. The largest port in Florida has taken precautions in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Extensive cleaning and sanitation protocols have been ordered for workers who were seen Tuesday vigorously scrubbing service counters with hospital masks on.
A new antimicrobial known as mPact is the cleaning agent of choice for Port Tampa Bay workers. This disinfectant kills the virus by way of a thin bonded film that resembles sword-shaped road spikes that kill bacteria.
“The antimicrobial is colorless, odorless, and can be applied to wood or steel framing, sheetrock, carpets, upholstery and painted surfaces,” the port’s website noted.
Local aid groups fight homelessness in Tampa
Some 1,600 people in Tampa will have no choice but to sleep on the streets tonight. It’s a staggering statistic that has alerted local aid groups to extend as much support as possible.
This morning of off Dale Mabry Highway, aid groups gave homeless people mobile showers, free lunch, clothes and haircuts.
Krystal E. Filsinger, program supervisor of GracePoint wellness group, has offered support.
“We have a large outreach event we hold them four times a year for the homeless population of Hillsborough County to make homelessness rare, brief, and non reoccurring,” Filsinger said Tuesday.
