Construction Website

Hillsborough County launched a new website that will help you gather information about construction projects in your area.

Hillsborough County Capital Improvement Program Viewer provides information including road work, parks and recreation upgrades, and solid waste. It will allow the public to read the timeline and costs of the construction project.

There are project type filters on the left side that includes improvements like the fire rescue, government facilities, liberty services and more. In the middle of the website, there is a projects map that visually shows the map of different cities in Florida. These locations are color coated and based on the color you choose, you can read the project details and quick facts in that area. There is a document link and county projects link on the top corners of the page that will give more information about the construction projects.

To access this map and for more information on how to use it, you can go to maps.hillsboroughcounty.org.

Under the government tab, there is a link to the county projects. There are multiple tabs that will give you information about the projects in the area.

Bolts Playoffs

Be the thunder. The playoffs start tonight for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Tampa Bay Lightning team is coming out of its dominant regular season to face the Columbus Blue Jackets game one of the best-of-seven series. The First Round is at the Amalie Arena at 7 p.m.

Tampa Bay Lightning won their first Stanley Cup in 2004. They entered the NHL league alongside the Ottawa Senators in 1992.

The team struggled in the beginning of its career with a losing record in each of the franchise’s first three years. Tampa Bay came back in 2014-15 and won a franchise-record 50 games. They were eventually eliminated by Pittsburgh Penguins in a seven-game conference finals series.

If you are a fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning then you may know about player 24, Ryan Callahan. Callahan was born in Rochester, NY. He previously played for the New York Rangers.

Callahan shows all of the qualities that a coach is looking for in a player such as grit, determination, sacrifice, and leadership. All of these traits prove why Callahan is the alternate captain for the team. His position is right wing and shoots with his right.
