4 Injured, 1 dead after shooting at Florida University

Five victims were shot leaving one dead in Tallahassee at the Florida A&M campus rec center Sunday. Making this the second shooting in as many weeks to take place on a college campus over the last month.

Officials say none of the victims were believed to be students at the university and the suspect in this case is still at large.

According to a tweet from the Tallahassee police department, four of the five victims were adults. One of the victims was a child.

“I want to assure the FAMU community the shooting incident that occurred on campus is not an ongoing threat to the University. The safety and security of our students, and the campus is our highest priority. The FAMU Campus Safety Department is working with the Tallahassee Police Department as the investigation continues. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” FAMU President Larry Robinson said regarding the status of the university after the shooting.

Online shopping is expected to take a large spike this cyber Monday

Since 2005, Cyber Monday has been a recognized as a yearly sale for people to continue their post-thanksgiving holiday shopping by the National Retail Federation, Online shopping has only continued to grow and this season is no different.

This years Cyber Monday is expected to break records, reaching upwards of 11 billion dollars in revenue from online shopping across the nation. This is following a record setting Black Friday where sales surpassed nine billion dollars.

Stores across the nation offer customers similar, if not better deals online then they would offer during the traditional in-store Black Friday sales. These sales lead to the abundance of customers that we are seeing.

Tampa Mayor to run for re-election in 2023

Former Tampa Police chief Jane Castor was first elected in 2019 and now has decided to run again for another term as Mayor of Tampa, according to Hillsborough county supervisor of elections.

Mayor Jane Castor announced her plans to run for re-election Monday during a press conference outside of the Supervisors of Election building in Tampa, FL.

“I am so so excited to go up and file for another term as Mayor for the great city of Tampa,” said Mayor Castor.

Two other candidates have filed to run against the incumbent, Jeff Godsell and Belinda Noah, the election will take place on March 7th 2023.
